Second batch of Khyber police completes training

KHYBER: The second batch of 292 police personnel of the Khyber district completed the three-month-long training at the police training centre in Shah Kas, Jamrud, on Saturday.

The policemen were imparted training in use of different weapons, and other techniques of modern policing.

Capital City Police Officer Peshawar Abbas Ahsan, Commandant FC Tirah Rifles Col Nadeem Mushtaq, deputy commissioner Mansoor Arshad and DPO Khyber Wasim Riaz took the salute from the police recruits.

Speaking on the occasion, Abbas Ahsan said the police force in the tribal districts needed a professional approach to tackle their new responsibilities.

Terming the training as a milestone for the new tribal police force, he expressed the hope that the newly-trained Khyber policemen would play a vital role in establishment of peace, eradication of crime from the society and handling of criminal elements in accordance with the law.

The CCPO distributed certificates, trophies, medals and shields among the best-performing police recruits.
