KARAK: Stick-wielding women again took to streets here on Wednesday to protest the low gas pressure.

They blocked the city link road for all kinds of traffic in Algaddi area, chanting slogans against the SNGPL.

The women had blocked the Indus Highway two days ago, and the district administration had promised taking up the low gas pressure issue with the local authorities of SNGPL, but to no avail.

The women regretted that they were facing low gas pressure despite the fact that their district produced abundant gas being supplied to parts of the country.

They said the holy month of Ramazan was fast approaching but they were deprived of the gas facility. They resolved to continue the protest till the gas pressure was improved. Later, on the intervention of assistant commissioner, Karak, Shah Jameel the protesters opened the road.
