ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments to implement a mechanism of e-Rahdari for trade with Afghanistan.

The speaker said this while chairing a meeting of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Parliament House on Monday.

An official announcement said that the Mr Qaiser informed the committee about his meeting with the speaker of the Afghan Wolsi Jirga in recent Speaker’s Conference in Turkey. He said that he deliberated upon shared border market concept and free transport.

The speaker also instructed both the provincial governments to create facilities at border and coordinate with federal departments to implement the mechanism of e-Rahdari.

He said Pakistan can have access to Central Asian markets by opening its trade route with Afghanistan. He appreciated the committee efforts for materlialising the objective of six days opening of borders with Afghanistan and successful offloading of transit goods at Miranshah.

He also remarked about utilising the latest technologies to facilitate the visa seekers from Afghanistan. He also informed the committee about his forthcoming visit to Afghanistan where he can further stress the cause of expanding market for Pakistani goods.
