He said 191,000 children under the age of five would be vaccinated in 56 union councils of Jhelum.

Around 535 field teams, 74 fixed teams and 24 transit teams will take part in the drive while 126 area in-charges and 56 union council in-charges will also work.

CEO Heath Dr Waseem Iqbal briefed Mr Pervez about necessary steps taken for the drive.

Police personnel will provide security to vaccination workers during their work. Every child should be vaccinated at any cost and assistant commissioners are directed to step in if anyone denies to vaccinate their child, he said.

The help of Motorway police and religious scholars will also be sought to campaign for the successful vaccination drive.

He urged citizens to fully cooperate with the authorities because polio virus can only be eradicated by the cooperation of the citizens.
