RAHIM YAR KHAN: Cholistan’s Hindu community held a music gathering to celebrate the presidential pride of performance award for the late Krishan Lal Bheel at Patan Minara, an ancient monument, 12km from here, on Wednesday.

Governor Chaudhry Sarwar had presented the civil award to late Bheel’ brother Guru Sikh Dev Jee in Lahore on March 23.

Krishan Lal Bheel was a popular folk singer of Cholistan who performed at different forums. He suffered kidney problems and died at the Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan last year.

The government had announced a presidential civil award for him and Rs500,000 for his family at the time of his death.

Bheel also received many international awards and performed in different countries. Local Hindus presented a tribute to the late Bheel at Pattan Minara, where he is buried.
