KARACHI, Oct 15: An unbeaten 50 by opener Shan Masood helped Karachi Urban to force a draw against Peshawar in the Inter-region under-19 cricket tournament at Gymkhana Ground in Peshawar on Saturday, according to reports reaching here.

Peshawar having gained a slender 23 runs first innings lead declared their second innings at 246 for five wickets setting the visitors the almost impossible task of scoring 270 for victory.

Karachi Urban finished the day at 89 for three wickets with Shan Masood compiling an attractive undefeated 50 scored off 101 deliveries. He struck eight fours.

Earlier, Shahid Iqbal stroked a fluent unbeaten 79 to ensure home side safety from any threat of defeat. His knock contained seven fours and he faced 124 balls.

Off-spinner Shahmir Khattak spun Karachi Harbour to a convincing nine wickets victory against Hyderabad.

Shahmir took five wickets for 21 in Hyderabad’s second innings. He claimed two for 19 to finish with match figures of seven wickets for 40 runs.

Muhammad Aamer was the only century maker as he scored exactly 100 in Faisalabad’s second innings to ensure his team salvage a draw against Multan.
