KARACHI: A suspect was shot dead in an alleged encounter in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, police said on Saturday.

“The police encounter took place at Perfume Chowk in Block-18 where after an exchange of fire one dacoit was killed,” said an officer of the Sharea Faisal police station.

The deceased was identified as Wahid Bux alias Fauji. The police recovered two pistols and one car from his custody.

East SSP Sajid Amir Sadozai claimed that the suspect was allegedly involved in the recent killing of a police officer, Rahim, in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. He originally hailed from Larkana, he added.

Woman shot dead

A 65-year-old woman was shot dead in Surjani Town, police said on Saturday.

They added that Rehmat Bibi was gunned down allegedly by her husband, Karim Bux, in Sector-7 B over some domestic dispute. The suspect managed to escape from the crime scene.
