44 trucks of goods for affected areas

SAHIWAL, Oct 15: People of Sahiwal on Saturday delivered 44 trucks of relief goods along with Rs0.8 million in cash to Multan Corps Commander Syed Sabahat Husain. The corps commander have sent the consignment of relief goods and the cash to Bagh accordingly.

The district government contributed Rs300,000, the Divisional Public School Rs200,000, DBA president Sardar Khalid Zia Rs125,000, ex-UC nazim Sagheer Anjum Rs50,000 and newly-elected tehsil nazim Omer Ishaq Rs100,000.

It also gave two trucks of relief goods including rice, ghee and sugar.

Newly-elected district nazim Rai Hasan Nawaz and notables of the city were also present on the occasion.

The corps commander hailed the gesture of the people for extending their help to the earthquake victims.

TAKEN AWAY: Five armed bandits took away seven buffaloes from Chak 56/5-L on Friday night.

Saadallon and his brother Ramzan were asleep in their outhouse when armed bandits came there and tortured them. Later, they tied the two brothers with a rope and took away their seven buffaloes worth Rs400,000.

Yusafwala police have instituted a case against the outlaws.
