GUJRAT: Two persons were injured in firing by the staff of a housing scheme for demanding payment for supplying sand and mud to the Metro City in the Sara-i-Alamgir police area on Friday.

Rasul Gul and Kamran used to supply sand and mud on their trucks to the Metro City and had demanded payment of the bill of their services from the management of the housing society.

However, Akhtar Ali, the general manager of the scheme, and his subordinates, Jalil Bukhari and Abdul Rehman, clashed with Gul and Kamran and opened fire on them, injuring both of them.

The injured were shifted to the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.

Fateh Khan, the uncle of the injured men, lodged a complaint with the police for the registration of a case against three nominated suspects.

The case was not registered till the filing of this report.

Police said an investigation into the case had been launched.

BOOKED: A police team, led by a station house officer (SHO), was allegedly attacked with batons during a raid near Bokan Mor area in Jalalpur Jattan police precincts on Friday.

Daulat Nagar SHO Altaf Gohar along with some policemen was on a routine patrol when a woman from Gandra village approached them near Bokan area for getting money from a man in her village.

The team went over to the outhouse of those nominated in the woman’s complaint to question them when the main suspects, brothers Qadeer and Kaleem, along with two associates, Adnan and Mukhtar, allegedly attacked them with clubs.

Meanwhile, more police force was called and three of the suspected attackers were overpowered and arrested.

Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police have registered a case against four nominated suspects under sections 353, 186 and 34 of PPC on the report of SHO Gohar and started an investigation.
