RAWALPINDI: Body parts of a woman, whose head was found from a garbage dump in Dhoke Chiragh Din on Tuesday, were recovered on Wednesday.

The woman, tentatively in her late 20s, was yet to be identified. Police, however, released a picture of her head to trace her family.

Police and rescue services said the body parts were found lying in a green area along Leh Nullah in Dhoke Chiragh Din, a small distance from the spot where her head was found.

Police said they had also recovered a meat cleaver lying near the woman’s head.

“Nothing else was found from the site which could help the police trace the woman’s family and motive behind the murder,” a senior police official said.

All the police stations in the city and outskirts have been asked to investigate recently missing young women reports to ascertain the woman’s identity.

The body parts of the woman were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
