RAWALPINDI: A woman’s head was found in a garbage dump with an axe lying in a bag nearby in Dhoke Chiragh Din on Tuesday.

Initial police report suggested that the woman who was yet to be identified seems to be axed to death and her head was dumped in the garbage.

A police official said there had been no complaint of any missing woman in the Civil Lines police station. The police have also launched a search for the remaining parts of her body.

He said some of the residents of the area spotted the woman’s head lying in the garbage on the bank of Leh Nullah and informed the emergency police.

The police official said forensic experts’ team had also been called to the scene.

Later the head was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
