LAHORE: “The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is the most popular political force of the country under the leadership of PM Imran Khan and its recent success in the election of Senate chairman and deputy chairman is a victory for transparency,” says Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
Addressing a delegation led by Munir Ahmad Khan – a PPP leader who joined PTI and called on the CM – he said the whole ‘PDM gang’ used every tactic to snatch the election of chairman and deputy chairman but by the grace of Allah Almighty, Sadiq Sanjrani and Mirza Mohammad Afridi won by a clear majority.

He said the opposition should now regain their sense by leaving negative politics. He said that PTI had come into power with the agenda of public service and would continue to do so. “Those who are hatching conspiracies faced defeat in the past and will meet the same fate in future as well. The PDM is trying to put the country’s bright future at stake. People of Pakistan will not let these rejected elements succeed,” he said.
Munir Ahmad Khan expressed complete confidence in the leadership of PM Imran Khan and CM Usman Buzdar and said the PTI government had taken effective steps to resolve the people’s problems. The ‘objective-less’ movement of the opposition has met its logical end. The election of Sadiq Sanjrani and Mirza Muhammad Afridi as chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate is an achievement, he added.
Those who met the chief minister include senior vice president PTI Punjab Haider Kherl , former PPP’s information secretary Punjab Zikriya Butt and former vice president PPP Lahore Mian Tahir Hameed. Ministers Hashim Jawan Bakht, Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari and Sardar Asif Nikai were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, adviser to PM Barrister Shehzad Akbar called on Mr Buzdar at CM office and discussed matters of mutual interest, political and other important issues. The duo congratulated the recently elected Senate chairman and deputy chairman on their victory. Both the leaders strongly condemned the efforts of PDM to make the institutions controversial.
Buzdar, talking on the occasion, asserted that no one would be allowed to malign the national institutions and those who are involved in this are not the well-wishers of the country. “We are standing by our national institutions and will remain to support them. The corrupt gang humiliate themselves by trying to do politics on non-issues. This gang has faced disgrace earlier and will meet the same fate in future as well. National institutions are our pride. Every nefarious design of a conspiratorial gang will be foiled. Defeat is the fate of the notorious PDM gang now.”
Usman Buzdar said the elimination of corrupt elements and qabza mafia from Punjab is his mission. Usman Buzdar further stated that state land worth billions of rupees had been retrieved during two years besides taking indiscriminate action against the Qabza mafia which would continue. The process of public service would be further expedited.
Adviser to PM Barrister Shehzad Akbar said: “Giving respect to the institutions is mandatory for us and targeting the institutions under a specific agenda is a highly deplorable act. Corrupt politicians have no future and frustrated opposition cannot hoodwink the people.”
