Dry weather predicted

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday forecast dry weather in most parts of the country during day time for the next 24 hours.

However rain and wind-thunderstorm (with snowfall over high mountains) is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night, the office reported.

A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country.

There was rain and a thunderstorm in KP, AJK, Punjab, northwest Balochistan and GB. Snowfall was also recorded in Kalam during this period. Rainfall (mm) recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 50mm, Kalam 31mm, Pattan 25mm, Malam Jabba 21mm, Balakot 20mm, Dir (Upper 13mm, Lower 8mm), DI Khan 8mm, Cherat 6mm, Saidu Sharif, Bannu, Parachinar 5mm, Chitral 4mm, Mirkhani 2mm, Peshawar (City , Airport), Drosh, Takht Bai 1mm, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport 47mm, City 36mm), Rawalakot, Garhi Dupatta 39mm, Kotli 30mm, Punjab: Murree 27mm, Bhakkar 22mm, Rawalpindi (Chaklala 16mm, Shamsabad 10mm), Islamabad (Airport 14mm, Saidpur 13mm, Bokra 11mm, Golra 10mm, Zero Point 9mm), Gujarat 13mm, Mandi Bahauddin 11mm, Jhelum, Mangla 9mm, Chakwal, Attock, Faisalabad 6mm, Sialkot (Airport 6mm, City 2mm), Sargodha 5mm, Gujranwala , Hafizabad 4mm, Narowal 3mm, Lahore City, Joharabad, Layyah, Noorpur Thal 2mm, Kasur, Khanewal 1mm, Balochistan: Quetta 1mm, GB: Astore 16mm, Skardu 5mm and Gupis 4mm.

Minimum temperatures recorded in(C): Leh -3°C, Kalam -2°C, Gupis -1°C, Astore and Ziarat 00°C.
