NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Eight terrorists were killed and a cache of arms was seized during intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan tribal district.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations press release on Saturday, security forces conducted two intelligence-based operations on terrorist hideouts in the Boya and Dosalli areas of North Waziristan tribal district. During the exchange of fire, eight terrorists were killed. The deceased included three terrorist commanders — Abdul Aneer alias Adil, who belonged to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Toofan group, Junaid alias Jamid from the TTP Tariq group and Khaliq Shadeen alias Rehan of the TTP Sadiq Noor group.

The ISPR said that these men remained involved in terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and residents of the area since 2009.

They were responsible for IED attacks, firing, targeted killings, kidnapping for ransom and extortion. These terrorists were also involved in recruiting terrorists in the area.

Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms from their hideouts, the ISPR said.
