Man burns wife to death

TAXILA: A man was arrested by Wah Cantonment Police on Saturday for allegedly burning his wife to death in sector 27 in limits of Wah Cantonment Police station.

Police sources said that 22-year-old Hajra Bibi was married to Kashif Sohail around two years ago.

Later, the couple developed differences and the man had allegedly burnt his wife. She was taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Wah Cantonment police on the statement of the victim had registered a case against her husband and arrested him.

Meanwhile, police arrested two suspected drug peddlers besides recovering over 1.3 kg heroin, 1.35 kg hashish and a 30 bore pistol from their possession.

In another raid, Wah Cantt police held Bakht Gul and seized 1.35 kg hashish. Separate cases have been registered against all the accused under Narcotics Control Act while further investigations are underway.
