QUETTA: An accountability court has indicted former chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, Nawab Lashkri Raisani and six others in a Rs817 million corruption case filed by NAB.

In the reference, NAB has accused the former chief minister of having illegally obtained Rs817m for his family in the name of compensation and causing damage to a 7000-year-old archeological site in Mehrgarh by abusing his powers.

The illegal action of the accused caused a loss of Rs817m to the national exchequer, NAB has said.

Accountability Court judge Allah Dad Roshan on Thursday heard arguments by Rashid Zaib Golara, who appeared on behalf of the Balochistan NAB.

The accused have denied allegations levelled against them in the case.
