RAWALPINDI: German Ambassador Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa here at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday and acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, overall regional situation, bilateral cooperation in various fields and Afghan Peace Process were discussed, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

The Army Chief said: “Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Germany.” He also appreciated holding of 5th round of Pak-Germany strategic dialogue in September last year and expressed the hope for mutually-benefiting bilateral relations.

CJCSC calls on Azerbaijan president

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza, during his official visit to Azerbaijan, called on President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

During meetings with other officials, important facets of defence and security relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan came under discussion, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

Both sides also deliberated upon various areas of bilateral cooperation and prevailing regional environment particularly with reference to Kashmir and Afghanistan.
