THE government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated the process of digitisation of land records in the province. Various service delivery centres are now functional and are providing services to the people. The digitisation of land records has replaced the pathetic manual ‘patwar’ system. Land record is available to the masses simply with a few clicks on a computer, and it now takes only seven days to transfer the ownership of any piece of land. The whole process is a matter of relief. However, the system needs to be updated every step of the way.
