CHARSADDA: Two persons were killed when a pickup van met an accident due to over-speeding here on Wednesday.

The van was on way to Peshawar from Shabqadar. It turned upside down while negotiating a sharp turn. As a result, driver Kher Jan of Rashidabad Peshawar, and a passenger, Riazullah got critical injuries. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar where they succumbed to their injuries.

The Shabqadar police registered FIR and started further investigations.

Separately, a youth shot dead his father and injured his brother over a family dispute in Ajun Kallay area in the jurisdiction of Umarzai police station.

The officials said Rashid opened indiscriminate fire on his father, Ruidad Khan, and brother, Babar over a domestic dispute. They said Ruidad died on the spot while Babar was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, Charsadda.

The Umarzai police registered case and started investigations.
