THIS is apropos the article ‘History: The faqir and the outsider’ (Feb 21). It was a pleasant read which traced a new facet of the life of Sadequain. Now, when the reports of misinterpretation of the works of Sadequain are rampant, the said article came as a refreshing breeze.
However, I believe that there is much more to be explored on the subject as the painter had stayed for seven years in Paris and, thus, much content in this regard is hitherto unrecorded. Being a descendant of the painter, the writer appears to have a vast collection of letters in which Sadequain had recorded his daily activities and transactions.
Delving deep into the epistles, the writer can extricate a vast treasure of information on the artist and present it before the audience.
