TAXILA: Heavy fines were imposed on the owners of three petrol pumps for tampering with nozzles and short-selling fuel.

Assistant Commissioner Shagufta Jabeen along with officials of the municipal committee and enforcement department paid surprise visits to filling stations on Wessa Road to check gauges and per-litre prices of diesel and petrol.

She said pump owners and operators found tampering with gauges and selling petrol and diesel in lesser quantity would not be spared.
