TAXILA: The Wah Saddar police on Monday arrested two persons who allegedly attempted to sexually assault an 11-year-old boy.

Taxila circle sub-divisional police officer DSP Tahir Kazmi while talking to newsmen on Monday said a woman told the police that her son went to a local tandoor shop from where the two persons took him to a deserted place and tried to sexually assault him. She said when the boy voiced alarm, the suspects fled.

Mr Kazmi said medical examination had confirmed the assault attempt. Later, police arrested the suspects and started further investigation.

Mr Kazmi further revealed that Wah Saddar police had also arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) while Taxila police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 1.6kg hashish.
