Education system

Published February 24, 2021

THE existing educational curriculum does not meet the requirements of the changing economy and environment. It is unfortunate that education is taken as a boring and uninteresting undertaking by so many.

The curriculum lacks flexibility and relevance. Such a static and stagnant education system cannot meet the requirements of liberalisation and globalisation.

The whole system needs to be restructured. Instead of producing clerks and civil servants, it must aim at producing better managers, bankers, technocrats and scientists. Those who prepare the educational curriculum must remember that their aim must be to produce well-balanced personalities.

The system must produce enlightened and talented young people who are able to face the challenges of the changing economy and environment.
