RAWALPINDI: A woman was gunned down allegedly by her two brothers over a monetary dispute in Shahpur on Adiala Road on Sunday.

Immediately after the incident, SDPO Saddar Division and Station House Officer Saddar Bairooni reached the spot and shifted the body to District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

Initial police investigation suggested that the woman identified as Sana Ibrahim, in her early 40s, was shot dead allegedly by her brothers. She had been residing with her husband in Shahpur while her brothers lived in Akora Khattak.

Police said the brothers of the deceased woman had a dispute with her which worsened on Saturday.

On Sunday, the brothers came to the woman’s house and gunned her down after having a heated argument with her, police said.

Raids are being carried out to arrest the alleged killers, the police said.
