TAXILA/CHAKWAL: The administrations of Taxila and Chakwal on Friday retrieved state land worth millions of rupees.

Two housing societies ‘illegally’ operating in Taxila and Hassanabdal were also sealed.

A team of Taxila administration along with revenue staff and tehsil administration retrieved 62 kanals and 16 marlas state land in Passwal area near Sangjani.

Moreover, a housing society near Moha Chowk in Wah Cantonment, being executed without approval of RDA was also sealed.

In Hassanabdal, a team of local administration, municipal authorities along with the revenue department demolished structures and buildings constructed illegally in a housing society located near Bai.

Meanwhile, the Chakwal district administration also retrieved 533 acres and 7.8 kanals of public land from illegal occupation, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Mussawar Khan Niazi told Dawn on Friday.

Among the retrieved land, 350 acres belonged to village common land reserved for pasture in Murid village.

The administration also retrieved 183 acres of land worth Rs1,392 million owned by the Punjab government.

Gujar Khan

In Kahuta and Gujar Khan, 106 kanals state land was retrieved from land grabbers, says Rawapindi Deputy Commissioner Captain retired Anwarul Haq.

He said 96 kanals were retrieved in Bora Hayal area of Kahuta.

In Gujar Khan, six kanals and two kanals were recovered in Kaliam Awan and Chhiyal areas.
