LAHORE: Master Paints, Master Paints Black and BN Polo recorded victories in the Aquafina Allama Iqbal Polo Cup here at the Jinnah Polo and Country Club (JP&CC) ground on Wednesday.

A half-goal advantage on handicap proved vital as Eulogio Celestino’s four goals helped BN Polo record a narrow 7½-7 victory against Remounts. The other scorers for the winners were Raja Mikael Sami (2) and Maria Ruiz Guinazu (1). They all eclipsed the outstanding performance of Remounts’ Ignacio Negri, who smashed six goals. LD Imran Shahid chipped in with one.

After lagging behind in the first three chukkers, Remounts finally revived themselves by scoring four goals on the trot to make the scoreline 7-7½, but their efforts in the end fell just short.

Earlier, Master Paints outclassed Barry’s 11-6½ with Marcos Panelo firing eight goals. Cruz Losada (2) and Mumtaz Abbas Niazi (1) also scored for the victors.

For the losing side, which had half-goal handicap, Ernesto Trotz and Santiago Gomes Romero hammered a hat-trick each.

Master Paints Black outsmarted FG Polo 9-6½.

Mariano Raigal (five) top-scored for Master Paints Black while Matias Vial Parez struck four. For FG Polo, which had half-goal handicap advantage, Francisco Bensadon registered five goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar struck one.
