LAHORE, Oct 10: PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto has directed her party colleagues to suspend their political activities for the time being and devote all their energies to collecting relief goods for hundreds of thousands of people affected by devastating earthquake.

She has asked party leaders to set up relief camps at district, tehsil and city levels.

Provincial president Qasim Zia, through whom the instructions have been conveyed, told reporters that cash, blankets, clothes, medicines and eatables would be received at the relief camps.

Qasim visited a centre at Shalamar Chowk on Monday. Naveed Chaudhry, Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Samiullah Khan and Iqbal Sialvi accompanied him.

The provincial executive committee of the party would meet in Lahore on Oct 15 to review the performance of the divisional organizations in this respect. They would be issued further instructions in the light of their performance.

The party is setting up relief camps in various parts of the provincial capital.
