HYDERABAD, Oct 10: The extent of misuse of bureaucratic authority can be gauged from the fact that as a matter of “courtesy” a bank official was allowed to occupy the house of the secretary of the Sindhi Adabi Board in Jamshoro for one month but he is now refusing to vacate the house.

According to documentary evidence, the bank official was supposed to vacate the house on August 30, as it was to be used as the camp office of the Sindh education minister.

However, the house was not vacated on the stipulated date.

The bank official was again asked on September 8 to vacate the house latest by September 30 but he refused.

According to the board sources, the secretary of the Board, Mr Inam Shaikh, again reminded the bank official to vacate the house but he was rebuked.

Sources said the Sindhi Adabi Board authorities have approached the Sindh education minister, the chief secretary, and the chief minister in writing for taking drastic action against the bank official.

The board authorities have sent a letter to the bank official to vacate the house by October 12 positively otherwise action will be initiated including disconnection of all services.
