QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that his government is providing maximum funds to members of the opposition parties as it believes in equal development throughout the province.

Speaking a public gathering during his visit to Kharan on Thursday, the chief minister said that it was the responsibility of his government to pay attention to the development of backward areas of the province.

He said huge funds had been allocated for completion of schemes which were launched by the previous governments without any proper planning.

Mr Alyani said: “It is our responsibility to resolve people’s problems at their doorsteps. Development schemes initiated by the previous governments, including schools, hospitals, buildings and roads, would be completed to save funds.”

He said Balochistan remained backward as its people were pitted against each other in the name of religion and other reasons, but his government had taken steps to promote brotherhood and bring the people close to each other by launching development projects in backward areas of the province.

He said his government was paying attention to the promotion of education and for this purpose boys and girls colleges were being establishing in every district of the province, while small and big roads were under construction to interconnect all areas.

The chief minister inaugurated various development projects.

Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Mir Arif Jan Mohammad Hasani, Parliamentary Secretary and Adviser to the CM on Minority Affairs Danish Kumar, former home minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Commissioner of Rakhshan division Saeed Ahmed Umrani and other officials were also present on the occasion.
