People of Kashmir deserve peace: Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa on Thursday said that people of Kashmir and the region deserved peace.

The COAS made these remarks while addressing the officers of Lahore Garrison, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

The army chief’s address focused on professional matters, internal and external security situation of the country, and his vision of an enduring peace in Pakistan and the region.

He apprised the officers of latest developments on eastern border, situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan’s firm commitment to a just resolution of Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Gen Bajwa emphasised greater vigilance and state of preparedness amid new challenges of hybrid war.

Earlier on his arrival in Lahore, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz.

Consider the resources Pakistan spends on arms, consider what it spends on research, realize why we are so very dependent on others for vaccine. When will we realize and do what is required to do what is necessary, do we wish to remain a nation of borrowers or will we have the good sense to start now and do the required research to produce life saving vaccines and drugs. As a nation we need to spend more on the welfare, betterment, of the people, and depend less on others.

All people in the world deserve peace. Yes people in Kashmir deserve peace, which can be achieved if the great General will stop sending arms & ammunitions & terrorists there & stop meddling in India's internal matters, then peace will automatically evolve! But Pakistan is still caught in 'paw in the bottle syndrome', so there is no escape. However, hope one day better sense will prevail on all concerned in Pakistan & the region will become peaceful, for the good of everybody!
