GUJRAT: As many as 13 new vehicles were handed over to various police stations of Gujrat district on Thursday.

The keys of these vehicles that are meant for the patrolling purposes in the areas of respective police stations, were given to the station house officers of 13 police stations by Gujranwala regional police officer Riaz Nazeer Gara at a ceremony held in police lines. Each vehicle costs at least Rs4 million which also include the installation of gadgets and other facilities in it.

The vehicles were given to city and Saddar Jalalpur Jattan, Lorry Adda, Karianwala, Dinga, Tanda, Daulat Nagar, Shaheen Chowk, Sadar Sara-i-Alamgir, Lalamusa city, Kakrali, Bulani and Gulliana police stations.

It is learnt that the Punjab government has recently procured at least 500 vehicles out of which 250 have been given to police stations and as many to the Punjab highway patrol.
