KARACHI, Oct 9: The Karachi Race Club (KRC) postponed races at the eleventh hour that were due to take place at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday after massive earthquake hit the country the other day.

The KRC had officially released the handicap on Saturday for holding the race meeting.

As a result a number of race-goers turned up at the venue only to find a notice about postponement at the entrance.

A spokesman for the KRC said the decision to put off the races was taken on Sunday morning.

According to him, the next race meeting would now be held on Oct 11.

The schedule and timings would remain unchanged, he concluded.
