President lauds MQM’s aid

LONDON, Oct 9: President Gen Pervez Musharraf praised the relief efforts of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for people in quake-effected areas, during a telephonic conversation on Sunday night with Mr Altaf Hussain, said a press release.

President Musharraf appreciated the contribution of Rs5 million to the president relief fund by Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation (KKF) as well as dispatching of medicines, essential items of daily use and other relief goods in large quantities.

Mr Altaf Hussain informed the president that relief goods and medicines worth millions of rupees had been dispatched to the earthquake-stricken areas and more were on the way.
