Jamshoro robberies

Published January 28, 2021

EARLIER this month, my nephew’s car was snatched at gunpoint when he was returning afrter withdrawing cash from an ATM at the Allied Bank branch in SUECH Society, Jamshoro, along with his brother.

Four unidentified individuals snatched their mobile phones, cash and car. They forcibly kept them in the car at gunpoint with their heads covered. After driving for nearly two hours, they left them in the outskirts of Sehwan district, and warned them to stay there for at least 30 minutes.

According to the recent reports, 17 cases of car snatching have been registered with Jamshoro police in recent weeks. These robberies were conducted in the same way, showing that the group behind them is the same and is highly professional. But the police has failed to even trace the mobile phone which is still switched on.

The relevant authorities should take prompt action to investigate the matter.
