LOWER DIR: The residents of Haya Serai village of Maidan have complained that an irrigation channel has been damaged during construction work on a road, suspending water supply to their agricultural lands.

Talking to mediapersons in Timergara here the other day, they said due to lack of irrigation water their standing crops were drying up.

They said the Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PKHA) machinery had destroyed the channel during extension work on the Haya Serai Road.

They said work on the road had been completed but channel was yet to be rehabilitated. They demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister to order early repair of the channel.

UPLIFT PROJECTS: Special assistant to the chief minister on anti-corruption, MPA Shafiullah Khan on Wednesday said developmental projects worth Rs3 billion were underway in his PK-15 constituency.

Talking to reporters, he said construction work on 15 government primary schools, several link roads, bridges and water supply schemes had been in progress. He said the government would not compromise on quality of work.

The lawmaker said establishment of a corruption-free society was government’s top priority.

The MPA said the government had approved Rs700 million to make Timergara a model city.

He said Rs720 million had been released for construction of the Kalpani-Talash bypass road, while construction of the Koto Bridge on the Panjkora River would also be tendered soon.

BOY KILLED: A boy was killed when he fell from roof of his house in Kambat on Wednesday, local residents said.
