Arrest of two BD ministers sought

Published October 9, 2005

DHAKA, Oct 8: The Bangladesh opposition on Saturday called for expulsion of two ministers from the cabinet for ‘counselling and providing shelter’ to Mufti Hannan, a leader of Harkat-ul-Jihad.

A court recently found Mufti Hannan guilty of planting bombs at a public meeting.

An Awami League-led alliance also called for the arrest of Commerce Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Water Resources Minister Gautam Chakrabarti for ‘patronizing militant forces’.
