KARACHI: Aqeel Shabbir earned double crown in the Beach Tennis men’s singles and doubles events at the 9th Essa Lab National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championships here at the Modern Club on Monday. In the men’s singles, Aqeel beat Eibad Sarwar and in the men’s doubles Aqeel and his partner Farzan Azhar beat Eibad Sarwar & Usama Saeed.

Hania Naveed emerged victorious in the Beach Tennis ladies singles final when she beat Eraj Batool .

The Beach Tennis event was inaugurated by Shafaq Salim, Essa Lab zonal coordinator south.

Hasheesh Kumar beat Asad Zaman of Lahore in straight sets in the regular event.

Juniors Under-18 Singles (quarter-finals): Hasheesh Kumar beat Asad Zaman ( Lahore) 6-1, 6-2; Ashar Mir beat Farzan Ahmed 6-2, 7-5; Sain Danish beat Hassam Khan ( Peshawar) 6-0, 6-2; Mahatir Muhammad beat Muhammad Ibrahim 6-1, 6-0

Under -14 Singles (quarter-finals): Amir Mazari ( Lahore) beat Basim Ali 4-1, 5-3

45 Plus Doubles 1st Round: Muhammad Iltifat & Sher Ahmed beat Aleem & Junaid 6-0, 6-0

Beach Tennis Men’s Singles (final): Aqeel Shabbir beat Eibad Sarwar 8-6

Beach Tennis Ladies Singles (final): Hania Naveed beat Eraj Batool 8-4

Beach Tennis men’s doubles (final): Aqeel Shabbir & Farzan Azhar beat Eibad Sarwar & Usama Saeed 8-3

Beach Tennis ladies doubles (final): Hania Naveed & Eraj Batool beat Afshan Fatima & Yumna Malik 8-1.
