KBBC, Karsaz Mumbas win matches at Commissioner Cup

KARACHI: KBBC beat Arambagh Club 46-38 while Karsaz Mumbas edged out Usman Club 34-32 in the Commissioner Cup basketball tournament that started here at the Arambagh-Abdul Nasir court on Friday evening.

Raj Lakhwani with 19 points was the star for KBBC. Hasan Ali scored 11 points for the losing side.

Murtaza Wahab, Advisor to CM Sindh, inaugurated the tournament and announced that the CM Sindh basketball tournament would be held very soon. “The Sindh government will wholeheartedly support the game of basketball in the city,” Murtaza said.

He also praised DMC South for renovating the Arambagh court.

DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar promised to have a grand Commissioner Cup final and rewards for players and officials.

KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad thanked the guests and appealed to the Sindh government to honour Secretary Sports Sindh Imtiaz Ali Shah for his tremendous services for sports.

A large number of fans and prominent personalities attended the opening ceremony including Secretary PPP South Karamullah Waqasi, SSP South Zubair Nazeer, PTF’s Khalid Shamsi, SOA’s Asif Azeem, Asad Ibad Ali and Akhtar Hussain.
