SHANGLA: The local residents, including transporters, have demanded of the authorities to repair the damaged stretches of the Karora-Ajmeer Road to avoid frequent traffic jams.
Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Mian Sohrab, a local, said the road was a busy route, but due to its dilapidated condition commuters faced hardships.
He said the district government’s construction and works department had special funds for road maintenance, but the funds were rarely used in Shangla.
Arshad Khan, a taxi driver, said his car frequently developed faults due to the bad road.
Amir Ali, a resident of Shahpur, said one lane of the road had slid near the Shahpur Bazaar, turning into a single track, which often caused traffic jams to the suffering of commuters and transporters.
The residents of Kana tehsil urged the deputy commissioner to order rehabilitation of the road.
