Appeal of ADP candidate rejected

MITHI, Oct 5: Tharparkar District Returning Officer Gul Munir Shah dismissed the appeal of Awam Dost Penal’s candidate Dr Manoj Kumar Malani on Wednesday against rejection of his nomination papers for the district nazim.

Arbab Anwar, a candidate of the Khushhal Pakistan Panel was likely to be elected unopposed as the nazim in the absence of Dr Malani. Mahesh Kumar Malani, the president of the PPP, and Abdul Ghafoor Khoso, a candidate for the taluka nazim of Nagarparkar, demanded from the chief election commissioner and the provincial election commissioner to take notice of the Nagarparkar police and the EDOeducation, who were harassing the ADP councillors and the supporters of Abdul Ghafoor Khoso.

Meanwhile, in separate statements issued here on Wednesday, Mahesh Kumar Malani and Abdul Ghafoor Khoso alleged that the police and the EDO were using negative tactics against them, including raids at the houses of the councillors and suspending teachers. They two leaders demanded security for their councillors so that they could be able to cast their vote on Thursday.
