Bid to smuggle 15kg charas foiled

RAWALPINDI, Oct 5: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle 15kg charas and arrested five persons, the authorities said on Wednesday. They said on a tip-off a team led by Captain Wajid Bashir Minhas signalled a car coming from Peshawar to stop at Tarnol. But the driver sped away. The ANF personnel chased the vehicle which entered a house in Dhoke Farman Ali.

Following a search of the vehicle, the narcotics concealed in the fuel tank of the car (GAE-585) were recovered. The ANF personnel also recovered narcotics from another car (RIP-568) already parked in the house.

Five persons identified as Mohammad Asif, Ali Akbar Khan, Aziz Khan, Saeed Wali Khan and Waqar Khan were arrested. A case has been registered against them.

VEHICLES STOLEN: Three vehicles were stolen in different parts of the city. Raja Attaur Rehman’s car was stolen from the jurisdiction of Airport area, Abdul Quddos’s motorbike was taken away from the Civil Lines area while another motorbike was lifted from Saddar. — Staff Reporter
