MANSEHRA: The police have booked a constable for sexually assaulting and blackmailing a woman in Noguzi area.

“We have booked policeman Mubashir under relevant sections of law and raids are being carried out for his arrest,” district police officer Sadiq Baloch told reporters here on Saturday.

The husband of the victim had submitted an application with the police for registration of FIR against the accused, stating the constable used to blackmail and sexually assault his wife in his absence as he was settled out of the district for work.

He said the accused used to barge into his house and assaulted his wife in presence of children, and also threatened the entire family of dire consequences if they put up resistance.

“The constable also forced his wife into prostitution to earn money,” the complainant said.

The police lodged FIR against the accused under sections 376, 371-A, 371-B, 452 and 500 of PPC. Raids are being carried out for his arrest.
