Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi has passed away, his son Riaz Shirazi said. He had been admitted to the Aga Khan University Hospital for a long time after contracting the coronavirus.

He was the father of member of the provincial assembly (MPA) Riaz Shirazi, member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ayaz Shirazi, and uncle of MPA Hussain Shah.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed "deep grief" over Shirazi's death, saying he was an "excellent man".

PPP Sindh president Nisar Khuhro also condoled Shirazi's death. The entire party is saddened, he said in a statement.
