SIALKOT: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced full support to the Sialkot industry and maximum facilitation for boosting exports through ease of doing business.

He said the government was removing successfully all the hurdles in the way of promotion of national exports through ease of doing business.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of private airline AirSial, he said the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the business community and was making all-out efforts for their solution. The premier called Sialkot’s business community the “most vibrant” one in the country.

He talked about the coronavirus pandemic and the difficulties caused by it. The PM said Pakistan managed to save its people from the virus. He, however, criticised the Opposition for holding public gatherings.

“The coronavirus cases are rising and if we don’t take proper precaution, the winter will be bad for the country. He gave examples of the United States, UK and Italy and the restrictions they imposed to avert the spread of infections. I will repeat - wear a mask. It is the only way to stop the virus,” the PM said.

Mr Khan distributed cattle among the local poor and deserving people during a ceremony held near Sambrial.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Wednesday announced Rs17 billion development package for the district.

The government, he said, was spending billions of rupees on the beautification and improved infrastructure of Sialkot. Addressing a public meeting of Kamyaab Naujawan Programme, the chief minister felicitated Sialkot exporters for starting their own private airline Air Sial. He announced establishment of a mother and child hospital, a 500-bed hospital, a new small industrial estate over 1,000 acre, science and technology university besides launching an ADB-funded project of Improved Urban Cities.
