DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified motorcyclists shot dead a local journalist outside his house in Madina Colony here on Monday evening.

The police said the victim, Qais Javed, was targeted by gunmen on a motorcycle when he along with a son was about to enter the house.

The attackers escaped the area. He was taken to a hospital where he died. The police registered the case and started further investigations.

SHO cantonment police station Abdul Ghaffar said armed men riding a motorbike shot dead Qais Javed, a local journalist and son of Mohan Masih, a former minority member of the PTI district council.

The last rites of late Qais Javed were performed at the Methodist Church in Chah Syed Munawar Shah on Tuesday.
