LAKKI MARWAT/DI KHAN/Swabi: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday alleged that the PTI government had sold out Kashmir to pave the way for Indian supremacy in the region.

Addressing a conference held in Naurang town to remember former JUI-F provincial chief Maulana Amanullah Khan, Mr Fazl said the PTI government first recognised India’s occupation of the occupied Kashmir and then initiated debate on the recognition of Israel.

He said the current Pakistani rulers had no mercy for Kashmiris and were helping India establish its supremacy in South Asia.

The JUI-F chief said the US policy of making Islamic countries recognise Israel was meant to pave the way for the dominance of Zionists in the world.

Says detentions won’t block PDM struggle against PTI

He said the rulers of Islamic countries had yielded to the pressure of the world powers and didn’t have courage to take a firm stand for the independence of their nations.

Mr Fazl warned that any move by Pakistan to recognise Israel would cause unrest and agitation in the country.

He called Prime Minister Imran Khan the most incompetent and incapable ruler in the country’s history.

The JUI-F, who also heads the opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement, said the government’s bids to foil the opposition’s agitation against it through bans and arrests won’t succeed.

He complained that political activists were kept with criminals in police stations, while bogus cases were registered against them.

Mr Fazl said detentions won’t stop PDM from its struggle to topple the government.

He said the ruling PTI had destroyed the country’s economy.

The JUI-F leader said the security establishment had imposed the PTI government on the country and was repeating the mistake by supporting it.

He said the Constitution had defined the roles of all institutions and therefore, no institution should interfere in the affairs of others.

Mr Fazl said the PDM’s Lahore rally would pave the way to send the government packing.

He paid homage to Maulana Amanullah over his work for religion and party.

Meanwhile, the JUI-F chief addressed a ceremony in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday night and said the PTI government’s wrong policies have shattered economy leaving no hope for its early recovery.

He said land reforms were not possible in Fata as there existed no land records and tribes had lands in their name.

Mr Fazl said the Fata-KP merger was carried out as part of the agenda of international forces and Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir would be ruined in the same manner.

Meanwhile, JUI-F central naib emir Maulana Fazal Ali has said religious parties will not allow the government to recognise Israel.

He told Dawn in Swabi that it seemed that the ruling PTI had adopted a flexible approach towards Israel and was levelling the ground for its recognition.
