KARACHI, Oct 2: Former city nazim Niamatullah Khan on Saturday felicitated Karachiites on the completion and inauguration of the city’s first underpass at Clifton, and said that the project was part of the Tameer-i-Karachi Programme initiated by him.

In his statement, Mr Khan who is seeking another term in his office, said Almighty Allah had put the thought in his mind that federal institutions operating in Karachi should utilize their resources in strengthening the city’s infrastructure because they were using it for decades together.

He expressed his gratitude to the federal government for appreciating and approving the plan and also directing the federal institutions like KPT and Pakistan Steel to either sponsor or own such projects. He particularly thanked KPT Chairman Vice-Admiral Ahmed Hayat Khan for sponsoring the Clifton underpass, Maulvi Tameezuddin Khan Road and Hino Chowk flyover projects.—PPI
