KARACHI: City Commissioner and Administrator Iftikhar Shallwani on Monday said that the owners and operators of marriage halls were not given any permission to serve buffet or food at tables.

“The guests at marriage and other functions can only be served with food boxes”, he further clarified.

The commissioner, who held a meeting with the office bearers of the Marriage Hall Owners Association at his office on the directive of the chief secretary, asked the association to fully implement the guidelines issued by the NCOC in letter and spirit to achieve the efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The association members assured the commissioner that SOPs issued for the marriage halls would be implemented fully by them.

Meanwhile the commissioner directed the deputy commissioners to get the SOPs implemented fully and take action against violators.
