KARACHI: A 45-year-old man was shot dead near the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) on Sunday morning, according to police.

They said that Gul Sahab was passing by a fire brigade office when a lone suspect riding a motorbike fired on him and fled.

The police found a motorbike and a pistol at the crime scene and believed that the killer abandoned them in a state of panic.

Area SHO Nadeem Hyder said that the victim was a labourer and was heading towards his workplace when he was shot. He originally hailed from Bajaur, the police officer added.

He said the killer had been identified but Gul Sahab’s relatives told the police that they would lodge an FIR after the victim’s burial.

The police believed that the murder was motivated by some personal enmity.
