PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the quarters concerned to finalise the draft of the proposed new law within three weeks to make the functions of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) more effective.

He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting, according to a statement here on Monday.

He also ordered early completion of the restructuring process of the ACE in order to make it more effective, strong and vibrant.

The meeting was briefed about the background, need and purpose of the ACE and different aspects of the draft law.

The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to finalise the proposed law in consultation with the relevant stakeholders in order to make it comprehensive in all respects.

He said eradication of corruption and ensuring transparency in all the provincial departments topped the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government’s agenda.

Mr Mahmood said the provincial government had enacted Right to Services and Right to Information Acts with the aim to ensure maximum transparency in functioning of the departments by making them accountable and responsible to the public.
